The National Western Stock Show takes place during the month of January in Denver, Colorado. The 16-day show serves as an entertainment arena. It hosts one of the world’s richest regular season professional rodeos, the “Super Bowl” of Livestock Shows, nationally recognized Horse Shows and Colorado’s largest Western Trade Show. This year the National Western runs from January 12 – 27. There is definitely “something for everyone”! Check out the schedule: Click Here The National Western Stock Show’s mission is to serve producers and consumers throughout the world by being the premier Stock Show, Rodeo, Horse Show and center for year-round events. It also provides college and graduate level scholarships in agriculture and medicine for practice in rural areas. The economic impact of the Stock Show is huge for the Denver area. It is consistently verified that around $115 million per year is generated by the Stock Show. This includes data from various sources including hotels, restaurants and taxes paid to name a few. There is also over $6 million in local and state tax revenues. Activities for the kids include a Petting Farm, Pony Rides, and a Youth Art Contest. The CSU Ag Adventure is also available. It’s the perfect place for children and adults to learn about the world of agriculture! There’s even a National Western Nursery where you can meet National Western’s newest arrivals of your favorite farm animals and learn about their first days of life on the farm! Visit all the mothers and babies in the Events Center Paddock, next to the Hutchison Western Pony Trails exhibit. The National Western proudly hosts more than 20,000 students, teachers and parents each year through their organized School Visits Program FREE of charge. Students have the opportunity to tour the Stock Show grounds and learn about how agriculture impacts their everyday lives. Another favorite activity is the sheep shearing.
