15 Minutes to a Less Cluttered Bedroom

2/24/2021

Yes, only 15 minutes to a less cluttered bedroom!

Wouldn’t you agree that your bedroom should be a haven for peace and tranquility? Hopefully, yours is! If not, keep reading!! We know you want a less cluttered bedroom.

If you are sick and tired of a cluttered bedroom, you can actually spend only 15 minutes a day to get it well on its way to being organized and functional.

While you may only use the bedroom for a few hours of sleep each day, nothing feels more restful and relaxing than going to bed at night in a clean and clutter-free bedroom.

If you have time in the morning to spend on decluttering, great! If that time of day doesn’t work for you, when you get home from work or are done running errands for the day may work better. Be creative, you can squeeze in 15 minutes sometime during your busy day!

Step #1
Start by making the bed…this must be done every morning…without fail! If you can change the sheets in less than 5 minutes, then go ahead. Otherwise, pull up the sheets and comforter or bedspread, fluff up those pillows and it is done!

Step #2
Now it’s time to address the clothes situation. Are they tossed all over the place? If so, put the dirty ones into the hamper. Hopefully, the hamper is in the bedroom, make sure it has a lid. If the hamper is in the closet, a lid is nice but not necessary. If you have clothes that aren’t dirty but need repair, designate an area in your closet for these items. A basket to put them in would work fine, that way they are easy to distinguish from your other clothes. For clothes that don’t go in the closet (such as undergarments) and are clean, give them a quick fold and put them in a dresser drawer or attractive storage unit.

Step #3
It is now time to remove or straighten up all the miscellaneous items. Remember the daily rule – if you don’t use it daily then it needs to be put away. So, put those items away. Just a note here: this ISN’T the time to clean out the nightstand drawers. It is a natural tendency to put something away in a drawer to get it out of sight with the intention of finding a home for it later. Then, when you open the drawer and see the mess, you are inclined to clean it. That is a task for another day when that is your main focus.

Just think – only 15 minutes and you made great strides to your goal of having a peaceful and tranquil bedroom. Another day and another 15 minutes…do this over and over until you reach your goal!

Hurray! Enjoy Your Less Cluttered Bedroom!

laughter Is the solution

I know we are all dealing with the changes and challenges of the pandemic in many different ways.  How can you feel good regardless of what’s happening around you?  Laughter; It’s the solution.  I’m not talking about watching or listening to something funny (although those help a great deal), I’m talking about generating yourself to laugh in an instant.  As a clean comedian and laughter yoga instructor, I feel honored to give people the powerful healing benefits of a chuckle, giggle and guffaw.  In my 25 years of performing, teaching and studying comedy, I’ve learned that laughter is a powerful solution to stress, pain, and conflict because it:

  • Relaxes your whole body by releasing tension and stress
  • Boosts your immune system as the infection-fighting cells increase
  • Triggers the release of endorphins to feel good and relieve pain
  • Counters heart attacks by improving the flow of blood through their veins
  • Enhances your mood which deflects depression

You can create your own joy, here’s how.

Laughter Yoga
  1. Warn the people around you or have them join in.
  2. Go on YouTube and watch a couple videos about “laughter yoga” so you can see how it’s done and so much fun.
  3. Let it out and enjoy!  You only need to do it for 5-10 minutes total.

I guarantee you’ll feel energized and in a good mood.  Do this before a big meeting, important event or potential confrontation and watch how the outcome shifts to your liking.  You can do this in the car, the shower, or any other private place to keep others from worrying that you’ve lost it.  Usually, onlookers will start laughing as well because it’s contagious.

I look forward to meeting you all as I inspire the area with clean comedy and laughter yoga.

The Historic Town of Victor

The town of Victor, Colorado is known as the City of Gold Mines. It is located at nearly an elevation of 10,000 feet on the southwest side of Pikes Peak in the Cripple Creek Victor Mining District.

Victor is central to the Gold Belt National Scenic Byway and designated as a National Historic District. This well-preserved gold mining town is 45 minutes from Colorado Springs and  Pikes Peak.

Victor is a unique setting of 1890's mine structures and turn-of-the-century buildings, unique shops and restaurants, as well as hiking trails, museums, and gold mining experiences. You will find clean, cool mountain air and plenty of year-round sunshine. Victor prides itself in not having stoplights, chair stores, traffic, or anything resembling the "rat race"! Source...

Battle Mountain which is located just above Victor had the largest, most prolific mines in the mining district. Thus, the town became known as the "City of Mines." The Mt. Rosa Mining, Milling and Land Company was founded in 1892 by Harry, Frank and Warren Woods. In 1894 the Woods brothers discovered gold when they began digging the foundation for a building, which resulted in the creation of the Gold Coin Mine. At that time 8,000 people lived in Victor.

In recent years mining has resumed in the area. The Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company formed in 1976 as a joint venture to restart mining in the district. From 1976 to 1989, the company produced 150,000 troy ounces (4,600 kg) of gold by reprocessing tailings and mining two small surface deposits.

The Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company began the first large-scale open pit mining in the district in 1994. In 1995 an open pit gold mining operation, which taps into "legendary" mines, began on Battle Mountain. Mining continued at the Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mine, under the ownership of AngloGold Ashanti which produced about 250,000 troy ounces of gold in 2012, in addition to several locally owned mines, all of which provide employment and revenue for the community. Ownership has recently changed from Anglo Gold to Newmont mining.
